Recall The Recall

It started with the pay cut, and when that didn’t fly they changed to losing collective bargaining rights, and when that fell on deaf ears they claimed the sky would most certainly fall, and when it didn’t they made one last tweak and claimed that it wasn’t necessarily what Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker did that justified a recall, it’s just that he went about it the wrong way.

They would have been better off just bitching about the pay cut.

Because if this is going to be an election about due process, then Walker’s opponents might as well call it quits right now and recall their recall.  To independent Wisconsinites who live outside the obsessive-compulsive binary world of partisan Madison politics, the way in which the unionists’ recall process has rolled out makes Walker’s parliamentary procedures of a year ago look positively sacramental.

The state’s Government Accountability Board (GAB) has started to release the recall petitions, leaving it up to the individual campaigns (State Senators, Governor and Lt. Governor) to challenge the validity of signatures that GAB should have disqualified.  A grass-roots army of citizen volunteers turned out to take on that task and even the most cynical of political observers are stunned by the amount of fraud that has been discovered by a cursory review of the forms.

So far, we have seen duplicate signatures, commercial addresses listed as domiciles, non-existent addresses, residency outside the district, residency outside the state, residency outside the country, and residency outside the galaxy - E.T. apparently wants Walker gone, too.

And these are the signatures that the Democrats certified and the GAB accepted.  Hard to imagine what you have to do to get one tossed.

We have seen signatures with no date, dates that are too early, dates that are too late, dates crossed out and changed later by someone else.  For folks who demanded a court overturn Act 10 over the number of minutes of notice given before a legislative committee hearing, the Walker-stalkers sure don’t mind giving themselves a wide berth when it comes to telling time.

We have seen circulators fill in information for petitioners, mask the name of the person being recalled, certify before the start date, certify known fraudulent signatures, forge signatures themselves, bribe petitioners, entice underage petitioners, and fail to complete their own circulator information as required by law.

We have seen that some people apparently don’t know where they live.  Some people don’t know how to spell the names of their towns.  Some people don’t know how to spell their own names.  Some people forgot they signed already and signed again on the very next line.  Some signed other people’s names multiple times on multiple petitions.

This is not what democracy looks like; this is what identity theft, voter fraud, and forgery look like.

One guy bragged on Facebook that he signed 81 times.  Another admitted signing for her whole family, because they shouldn’t like Walker.  Some people didn’t know, or care, who they were even recalling. Some people don’t know which senate district they live in.  And some people have an impressive gift for mimicking the handwriting of the person above them, and above them, and above them.

The salient point here is not that some people are incapable of filling out a simple form; it is the chilling realization that these are the chuckheads who want to tell us what to eat, drink, drive, smoke, wear, earn, keep, carry, buy, own, sell, listen to, learn, and read.

Call me belligerent, but I don’t want my life regulated by some doofus who lives in Oconomowoc and can’t even spell it.  Somebody should check the petitions from King and Rio and see if the circulators shipped in from Kentucky and Ohio had an easier time of it with only one or two syllables to master.

And spare me your righteous indignation, liberals – “how” matters because you made it your pitch to independents. Honestly, did you really think you would pull this off?  Did you imagine that the people who outnumbered you to elect Governor Walker in the first place would just sit idly by and let you just nullify their votes when you are high-fiving your felonies on Facebook?   C’mon man!

And do you really expect us to believe that so many of your experienced circulators all went rogue on you all at the same time in this one petition drive?  That they weren’t just doing what they have always done, the way they were taught by your community organizers?  What possible explanation can you give us now that we understand why you panicked over the Republicans’ Voter ID bill?

As of this writing, not one Democrat mouthpiece in the state has come forward to denounce the blatant fraud that has been published by GAB for all to see. Not one.  How hard would it be for any one of the opposition candidates seeking our vote for Governor to simply say “falsifying information on the recall petitions is wrong, and I condemn voter fraud.”

Apparently it is damn hard, even if there is just a small fraction of signatures that are invalid.  One by one, the Democrats most potent opponents are dropping out of contention, as they catch a whiff of the stink rising up from this whole rotten recall mess.  Do the guys running the show not think we independents know why the smart ones – Feingold, Barrett, Obey, Cullen – want no part of it?

The average Wisconsinite is a fair-minded, common sense, decent, hard-working sort who is ashamed of dishonest behavior like this.  We are the state known for bringing transparency and reform to the political process.  Voter fraud is the kind of low-rent knuckle-dragging thuggery they do in Illinois; it is one of the reasons we call them FIBs - and that does not stand for our Fabulous Illinois Brethren.

Wisconsin Democrats, you’re busted.  You know it.  Everybody knows it.  You boasted that you have one million valid signatures to recall Governor Scott Walker – if you fall short, you will have one hell of a lot of explaining to do.  And based upon the petitions we have seen so far, you best get somebody working on that explanation right now.

  1. Whew!! Fabulous Dr. Tim! My two favorite lines:

"And some people have an impressive gift for mimicking the handwriting of the person above them, and above them, and above them."

    And:

"For folks who demanded a court overturn Act 10 over the number of minutes of notice given before a legislative committee hearing, the Walker-stalkers sure don’t mind giving themselves a wide berth when it comes to telling time."

    sums it up nicely.

  2. They MUST be held accountable for the fraud. If it is allowed, it sets a precedent to make it all the worse in the future. I denounce fraud by any political party!

Yes, the "how" is why the recall is happening, Doofus Doctor.

  4. Another great post Tim. The problem with the ignorant left is that they actually think they can do whatever they want yet hell foul if the other side does it. It funny by doing that they advertise they know it is wrong but too arrogant to care.

Sadly Chicago style politics is actually been here in Wisconsin for more than a decade, we are just starting to wake up and see it. This recall most likely will go through, shame how there is no reason or solid theory why this recall was called for in the first place.

The unions knew what Walker was about that is why they paid for the Recall Walker website name right in February 2010. Months before they knew if Walker or Nueman would have been the candidate. They knew if Walker would have won, this was his goal yet failed to communicate to all their members. http://www.weac.org/LUC/newsletters/October%20Lakewood%20Lookout.pdf

This did post and spread this newsletter out but like most liberals they think they know enough to read such useless things during a election year!

Unions knew it, if their members read their unions newsletters they would known of it, and there is not one ethics violation that anybody can point to that Walker did as governor to justify a recall. Is Walker perfect? No, but it is amazing to have a governor who has been belittled by people of the lowest filth of society, to continue to show a true and positive attitude through this whole course. This leadership and positive outlook is what will move Wisconsin moving forward. Is he perfect no, but is any governor perfect? NO.

Walker ran on the principle of cutting back the waste and balancing our budget. He did that in 8 months where it took 8 years of Doyle to fail and mess everything up.

My Reply: Care to elaborate on that Anonymous? Your 'broad brush' comment paints the same picture the unions have been trying to paint for over a year. Not to mention the fact we have proven those points to be false.

  8. That would require the union sheep to think for themselves. The unions didn't give them further talking/hating points so they keep repeating the the same lie. Just like people believe wall street heavily favors Republicans yet the money always ends up in Democrats hands.

  9. So far, the opponents of Voter ID keep chirping the same line: "There is no voter fraud, because you've never caught us at it."

In past elections, it was pretty difficult to prosecute voter fraud based on the nature of the process. Verifying petition signature fraud is quite different. Let's see how many of the signatures do not even meet the GAB's relatively low bar...then extrapolate that out to recent elections as a reasonable expectation of voter fraud.

Suddenly, it looks like Prosser and Walker both likely won by larger margins. And were the senators recalled last fall recalled legitimately?

Wait...this just in...the same people who claim Voter ID isn't needed because there is no voter fraud are also saying--out of the other side of their mouths--that the only people who commit voter fraud are those who vote for conservatives.

Riiiiiight...I guess that's why conservatives passed Voter ID.

You can't have it both ways, and the recall petitions are showing everyone where the fraud lies.

  10. @zeveo - you might think I am going to rip on you, but I won't. you had the decency to use a name, and although you could use a bit of coaching on grammar, you made a brief and succinct point, and that is what I have been trying to encourage here. If you have any specific knowledge of Walker cheating, use the contact button to send me the info - I would be happy to write an "equal time" piece.

  11. Dr. Tim,
I concider myself an open minded person who is willing to hear both sides BEFORE making a informed choice but what bothers me is that when I ask ANY anti Walker advocate why I should sign their petition the reasons I hear are invalidable. Reasons Like " I just don't like Walker" or " He's for the rich" or I never liked him from the start" ! Are we to now vote for the leaders of our country based on our emotions and not use our intelect to vote based on the facts of who will be a better representative ??? If this is the way people are really thinking then they deserve to live in a screwed-up country, just not MY COUNTRY !!

  14. http://www.wisconsingrandsonsofliberty.com/uploads/WIGOL_EDR_Report.pdf

The WI Grandsons of Liberty analyzed same day registration forms from April 2011 Election. Page 25 of the above link has the summary.

"We discovered holes in the process that raise a great concern. Foremost was the alarming 33.7% overall error rate and that translated to a 17.9% error rate just when it came to “Proof of Residency.”

33.7% error rate on same day registrations. I'm thankful Voter ID will curb these abuses in voting.

  15. Less than three hundred thousand residents in Madison (many under 18 so they can't vote or recall), over 1 million signatures, sounds more like Wisconsin politcs than Madison politics.

What did you see Tim? I mean you're in Lakewood Ranch, FL, what did you see? Oh wait, you take third party rumors and cite as facts. Plus your winter home apparently is also ran by a doofus.

We are doing something about a governor we don't think serves the self interests; if everyone loves Walker and voter ID then he should win again right? And then win again in a couple years. Walker did what he could constitutionally. We are doing the same. We've had lots of republican governors that didn't face recall.

Oh yeah, you want democrats to acknowledge fraud, but no where do you acknowledge fraud during Walker's original campaign that won him the governor's seat in the first place.

  16. It is funny just a couple days ago we are hearing of the Walker campaign fraud. Are you talking about the john doe cases Walker himself alerted the authorities with? It was alerted from his office otherwise nobody would know about it. Nice try though, I am sure that is the new propaganda coming from your unions.

Remember you have supposedly 1 million signatures. In a state with 6.5 million people 5.5 million oppose this recall. How about you start being realistic and lets send the bill to the people who signed the recall petitions. You bleeding heart liberals would call that fair.

How do you know Tim and the person that runs his winter home? Oh I forgot you are a liberal you think you know it all.

  17. The Hudson (WI) DMV was burglarized on January 16th. The printing machine that makes drivers licenses and a number of blank licenses were stolen. It is interesting to note there was no sign of forced entry. (Inside job??)

I don't know if you were aware of this or not, it looks like it wasn't covered anywhere in Wisconsin outside of Hudson.

I think the voter fraud machine is already up and running in someone's basement. Which side of the Walker recall the criminals are on is anyone's guess.

The story can be found here: http://kstp.com/news/stories/S2456757.shtml?cat=1

  18. Keith, you are too funny! The almighty Walker alerted authorities? Yeah right. I do think all of that is blown out of proportion as well, some people talk like Walker himself launched this secret underground network of campaigning. I'm sick of all the BS both ways.

That's crazy math. If you use subtraction, yes 5.5 million didn't sign a recall. Some of those people aren't even of age to sign anything. 1 million is a great percentage compared to other ideas.

I only know Tim from his profile below (what's he's offering publically, which states that he's from Florida.) That's nice of you to assume that you think I know it all.

Tim isn't too thourough in my opinion. He says people signed the recalls for all the wrong reasons, because people don't "like" Walker. He assumes in a personal sense which isn't really the issue. Guy seems like he wants to be a regular guy. They don't like his policies and what his policies have done to the state. While many agree with Walker, many also don't. It'll be intersting to see what happens, since he put himself in this position. Likeability is very underrated, Tommy Thompson scared liberals too, but he was smart enough to have charisma which goes a long way to dealing with the more conservative democrats and people in the middle. Obama has that same thing going for him, conservatives dislike him but likely would dislike any democrat president. He gets it though. Kind of like Romney vs Newt. Many conservatives love Newt but I think he rubs enough people the wrong way that Romney's the only option.

  19. Yay Sue...way to assume democrats! And not 17 year old kids who want to buy beer...

  20. Now you are going to use the underage excuse you levied at Tim! Wow. You just do not like the facts because it is true. Walker alerting the authorities defeats your argument. You assume it is bs but failed to prove it. The liberal media cannot even hide it but I am sure you and your union friends will come up with some interesting tales. Show is the evidence otherwise you are just being ignorant of the facts because you dislike Walker.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would expect a 17-year-old to smash a window to get in, not use a key.

I have no idea which side of the Walker issue the burglars are on - why not assume they are democrats? Maybe they are republicans? Maybe even rogue libertarians stuffing the ballot box with Ron Paul write-ins.

Tim's right, Wisconsin is the new Illinois.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @me - I only listed the things on petitions that have been published on the web, and I didn't repeat any rumors. I will gladly say that if Walker committed fraud in a previous election, it is wrong. Or if any Libertarian party candidate did, since I am not a Republican. Why is it so hard for Democrats to simply say it is wrong to commit voter fraud? Why don't you just do that here and we can all move on to the next post.

  24. Tim,

The current incarnation of the Wisconsin Democrat is for winning at all costs. Nothing else.

The new generation of raving Twitterloons like Graeme Zielinski are a far cry from some of the outgoing, principled folks like Feingold.

  26. Excellent summation of the current recall efforts, Dr. Nerenz. It would appear to me that possible procetution of the people collecting the fraudulent signatures for these petitions would be in order.

And to the commenter that claimed there was wrong doing regarding Gov. Walker's campaign, let's hear about that. What evidence do you have? Just CLAIMING a faul doesn't cut it. Unless you have hard evidnece, you got nothing.

  28. Anonymous, you make factless accusations without any evidence of any kind, sound like a union drone who speaks drum, and obviously oblivious to the fraud right in front of your nose.

Yea we are really scared. Last time I heard Kathleen Falk is the union owned picked puppet. Good luck with that train wreck. If your not scared how about show us these campaign fraud you lile to believe. If there was any evidence I am sure the liberal media would have it on 24/7 non stop.

  29. As usual--you rock the Casbah! I live in TN so should care less about Wisconsin, right? Wrong. This is about principles--and once again union members everywhere struggle with concepts of basic honesty and it appears even basic spelling. "Union made" has come to mean "buyer beware." Great work Tim!
